Ph.D. Residencies

Registration for May, June, July, August, and September residencies is now open. Residencies occuring after September 2008 will open in August.

Ph.D. Residency Requirements
Academic residencies are face-to-face sessions with faculty and academic support staff held throughout the year at various locations.  Ph.D. students fulfill their 20-day residency requirement by participating in two 4-day and two 6-day residencies at appropriate times when they have reached specific Milestones in their academic progress.  Students may choose to attend any of the 4-day or 6-day residencies that are available when they reach each of the four Milestones, or generally one residency a year.  Residency programs for each Milestone are available at every residency. Advanced students can choose to participate in a Professional Conference with Walden faculty to fulfill a 4-day Milestone 4 residency.

Psychology students in the licensure programs (clinical, counseling, and school psychology) have specific requirements for residency which are related to the Academic Year in Residence (AYR); academic advisors are available to discuss the requirements of the AYR in more depth.

New Students
Residency attendance is expected within 90 days of completing the foundations course.

Registration
Below is a list of U.S. residencies that have been opened for registration.  Select a specific residency for more information. Residencies that occur in a future term may not be listed on this registration page. To register for an international residency view the international residencies page.

The Residencies Team will close registration for residencies when they have reached capacity.  Wait lists are available for "waitlisted" residencies. Please contact residencies@waldenu.edu with your full name and Walden ID (or last for digits of your SSN), and your program name if you would like to be added to the waitlist. Waitlisted students will be contacted if space becomes available. Residencies listed as "Closed" are no longer accepting registrations and are not available for waitlist.

**When registering, in order to have more consistent communications, please use your new Walden email address, not a personal one. If you have sent the Residencies Team an email using a Yahoo email address and have not received a response, please check your Junk Mail.
