Registration

When a Residency is open for registration, the link for that residency will provide additional information about the residency including schedule and venue as well as a link to registration.

Links for registration are located on the M.S. MHC residencies page.

Residency 1 is required before the end of the third term.  Students will participate in workshops that focus on multicultural competencies, foundations of mental health counseling (i.e. orientation to the profession, licensure, professional identity, etc.), and practicum and internship preparations.  In addition, students will engage with group activities and take part in skill developing and video-taping.  Both group and individual advising sessions are offered at Residency 1.

Residency 2 is required between a student's 6th term and 8th term.  At this residency, students continue their foundations of mental health counseling sessions (career development, consultation and supervision, pharmacology); go through a ten-hour group experience; continue their individual counseling skill development; and complete a social change project.  Group academic advising continues from Residency 1 as part of the program.
