This residency has already passed.

Location and Venue
Walden University will be hosting a 3–day Ed.D. residency in St. Charles, IL in the Chicago area. During this residency, students will participate in academic sessions, have access to faculty and staff members for advising sessions, and have an opportunity to interact with other Ed.D. and Ph.D. students from Walden University for professional and academic networking.

Take advantage of the great opportunities offered at this residency to achieve the residency's goals of skill building, socialization, scholarship, and social change advocacy. The Pheasant Run Resort offers a variety of venues both on-site and walking distance for dinner and socialization, including two theaters featuring productions by Chicago's acclaimed Noble Fool Theatricals, Zanies Comedy Club, and several restaurants and lounges.  This venue, located on 250 beautiful rolling acres in historic St. Charles, includes golf courses, a comedy club, and children's activities. This is the perfect location for a residency with family and significant others!

Due to low registration numbers, Walden University and the Pheasant Run Resort will not be offering Kids Klub at the Chicago-area Residency.  If you do plan to bring your children with you to this residency venue, please bring someone to care for them and find alternate activies for them during residency hours.

Travel
Students flying to this residency will want to fly into the O'Hare International Airport (ORD).  The residency will be located approximately one hour from the airport.  Students should make flight arrangements only after receiving a Confirmation E-mail from the Residencies Team.

Accommodations
Walden University has reserved a block of rooms at the Pheasant Run Resort & Spa at a rate of $139/night. Information on how to make a reservation will be provided to registered students in the Confirmation Email. Take advantage of these rooms for their convenience to academic sessions. With the extra time you’ll have in the morning, you will be able to make the most of your experience at the residency--socialize and network to establish a support system of faculty, staff, and fellow students.  As part of the room block, you'll also enjoy high-speed Internet access in your sleeping room at no additional cost.

Students must make room reservations prior to Tuesday, October 9, 2007. Rooms are available to students on a first-come/first-serve basis; act fast to reserve your room as the hotel may reach capacity prior to the deadline. Once the room block is full, the hotel reserves the right to increase the room rates prior to the room block deadline.

Registration Information
Residency registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis beginning June 27, 2007 at 10 a.m. Central Time.  Please register early to guarantee a place in the residency.
