International options for AYR Psychology Licensure Students Psychology licensure students can attend an international residency to replace a Professional Conference and in so doing earn 40 hours towards the Academic Year in Residence (AYR). However, it is the student’s responsibility to check with his or her state licensing board to be sure that these hours can fulfil any residency requirements for their state. The international residency may also be used by Psychology students in the licensure programs to fulfil the required Milestone 1 residency (although in this case it will not count as AYR hours). Regardless, attending an international residency (for either Milestone 1 or in place of a Professional Conference) does not replace any of the three required 12-day AYR residencies held during Winter and Summer Sessions. Please email psycadvise@waldenu.edu if you have further questions about licensure student residency requirements.
