Registration for this the 12-day AYR Residency opens October 3rd, 2007 at 10 a.m. CST.
The Academic Year in Residence (AYR) Winter Session is open only to students in the School of Psychology (clinical, counseling, and school psychology) who are seeking licensure and have been approved to being their AYR.
Location and Venue
During January 20- Februay 2, 2008 Walden University will be returning to the Adam's Mark Hotel- Dallas (this property will soon be under new mangement and in Januray 2008 will be a Sheraton Hotel) and the Universities Center-Dallas for the Academic Year in Residence (AYR) Winter Session and University Commencement. During the AYR Residency, you will attend lectures, participate in academic sessions, have access to faculty and staff members and student support for advising sessions, and have an opportunity to interact with other Ph.D., Ed.D., and M.S. Mental Health Counseling students from Walden University. Here, you will have opportunities for professional and academic networking at the largest hotel property in Texas. In addition, you will have an opportunity to attend the Walden University Commencement Ceremony and network and interact with graduating students from all degree programs.
Located in the heart of downtown, the Adam's Mark is near many of Dallas' main attractions. Students may either walk or use the Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) train to explore the area. Only blocks away, students will find the Universities Center-Dallas, international restaurants, trendy shopping, and the city's leading historical and art's districts. At the Adam's Mark itself is home several on-site restaurant.
Travel
Students should make flight arrangements only after receiving a Confirmation Email from the Residencies Team. Students flying to this residency will want to fly into the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport. The hotel is located approximately 18 miles from the airport.
Accommodations
Walden University has reserved a block of rooms at a rate of $115/night. Take advantage of the Walden University room block for its convenient location near academic sessions. With that extra time in the morning, you'll be able to make the most of your experience at the residency--socialize and network to establish a support system of faculty, staff, and fellow students. As part of the room block, you will also enjoy amenities such as complimentary high-speed Internet access in your guest room.
You must make room reservations by Saturday, December 30, 2007 by calling the Adam's Mark at 800.444.2326, indicating the reservation should be with the Walden University room block. Rooms in the block are available to students on a first-come/first-serve basis. Once the room block is full, the hotel reserves the right to increase the room rates prior to the room block deadline (Saturday, December 30, 2007).
Registration Information
Residency registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Please register early to guarantee a place in the residency. If you register less than three weeks prior to the residency, you are not guaranteed to have your name included in all printed materials.
Students who request to register after the residency has reached its maximum capacity will be placed on a waitlist and contacted if space becomes available. Check the website to see which residencies are open for registration.

Cancellation Policy
According to Residency Policies and Procedures, students who wish to cancel their registration MUST do so no later than Thursday, January 10, 2008. Students who do not cancel by January 10, 2008 will be billed for the residency whether or not they attend.
