Register For the Session

Registration for this the 6-day M.S. MHC Residency opens October 3, 2007 at 10 a.m. CST.

Location and Venue
During the week of January 20-26, 2008 Walden University will be returning to the Adam’s Mark Hotel-Dallas (the Adam's Mark will be changing managemnet and by January 2008 will be a Sheraton Hotel) for the Master’s of Science in Mental Health Counseling (M.S. MHC) Winter Session.

Residency II is the residency required between a student's 6th term and 8th term.  In this residency, you will continue with foundations of mental health counseling sessions (career development, consultation and supervision, pharmacology); go through a ten-hour group experience; continue individual counseling skill development; and complete a social change project.  You also take part in academic advising.  You should bring one blank recordable mini-DVD and the mini-DVD from Residency I.

The M.S. MHC Winter Session 2008 will provide opportunities for professional and academic networking at the largest hotel property in Texas.  In addition, students will have an opportunity to network and interact with students in the Ph.D. in Psychology program (clinical, counseling, and school specializations) who will be attending their own residency functions.

Located in the heart of downtown, the Adam’s Mark Hotel is near many of Dallas' main attractions.  Students may either walk or use the Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) train to explore the area. Only blocks away student will find international restaurants, trendy shopping, and the city's leading historical and art's districts. The Adam’s Mark itself is home to several on-site restaurants.

Travel
Students should make flight arrangements only after receiving a Confirmation Email from the Residencies Team.
Students flying to this residency will want to fly into the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport.  The hotel is located approximately 18 miles from the airport.

Accommodations
Walden University has reserved a block of rooms at a rate of $115/night.  Take advantage of the Walden room block for its convenient location near academic sessions. With that extra time in the morning, you will be able to make the most of your experience at the residency—socialize and network to establish a support system of faculty, staff, and students. As part of the room block, you will also enjoy amenities such as high-speed Internet access at no additional cost.

Students must make room reservations by Saturday, December 30, 2007 by calling the Adam’s Mark at 800.444.2326, indicating the reservation should be with the Walden University room block. Rooms in the block are available to students on a first-come/first-serve basis.  Once the room block is full, the hotel reserves the right to increase the room rates prior to the room block deadline (Saturday, December 30, 2007).
