Location and Venue
The Atlanta, GA Residency will be held February 13-17, 2008 at the
Hilton Atlanta.  This centrally located, downtown hotel is only a 15-minute drive from the Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.  Upon arriving, students will find this to be an ideal venue for a residency.  The Hilton Atlanta boasts spacious and modern meeting facilities, an onsite Kinkos, a premier fitness center, and local area transportation.  After hours, students will have easy walking access to the World Congress Center, the Georgia Aquarium, and the Coca Cola Museum.  The MARTA rail system is nearby for easy access to locations further from the hotel.  Take this opportunity to network with collegues, faculty, and staff in one of the South's most exciting cities.  

 

Travel
Students should make flight arrangements only after receiving a Confirmation Email from the Residency Team. Students flying to this residency will want to fly into the Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.  The Hilton Atlanta is located approximately 12 miles from the airport.   

 

Accomodations
Walden University has reserved a block of rooms at a rate of $142/night.  Take advantage of the Walden University room block for its convenient location near academic sessions.  With that extra time in the morning, you'll be able to make the most of your experience at the residency--socialize and network to establish a support system of faculty, staff, and fellow students.  As part of the room block, you will also enjoy amenities such as complimentary high-speed Internet access at no additional cost.

 

Students must make room reservations by Wednesday, January 23, 2008 by calling the Hilton Atlanta at 877.667.7210, indicating the reservation should be with the Walden University room block.  Rooms in the block are available to students on a first-come, first-serve basis.  Once the room block is full, the hotel reserves the right to increase the room rates prior to the room block deadline (Wednesday, January 23, 2008).

 

Registration Information
Residency registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis.  Please register early to gaurantee a place in the residency.  If you register less than three weeks prior to the residency, you are not gauranteed to have your name included in all printed materials. 

 

Students attempting to register after the residency has reached its maximum capacity will be placed on a waitlist and contacted if space becomes available.  Check the website to see which residencies are open for registration.

Cancellation Policy
According to
Residencies Policies and Procedures, students who wish to cancel their registration MUST do so no later than Sunday, February 3, 2008.  Students who do not cancel by February 3, 2008 will be billed for the residency whether or not they attend.
