Register For the Session
Registration for the Minneapolis, MN M.S. MHC Residency 1 will open January 9, 2008 at 10 a.m. CST.
Location and Venue
During the week of March 9-15, 2008 Walden University will be returning to the Hilton Minneapolis-St.Paul Airport for the Master’s of Science in Mental Health Counseling (M.S. MHC) Residency.
Students attending Residency 1 will participate in workshops that focus on multicultural competencies, foundations of mental health counseling (i.e. orientation to the profession, licensure, professional identity, etc.), and practicum and internship preparations. In addition, you will engage with group activities and take part in skill development and taping. Academic advising is offered as needed at Residency 1. Students are required to bring a recordable mini-DVD to this session. The M.S. MHC Residency will provide opportunities for professional and academic networking.
Travel
Students should make flight arrangements only after receiving a Confirmation Email from the Residencies Team.
Accommodations
Walden University has reserved a block of rooms at a rate of $125/night. Take advantage of the Walden room block for its convenient location near academic sessions. With that extra time in the morning, you will be able to make the most of your experience at the residency—socialize and network to establish a support system of faculty, staff, and students. As part of the room block, you will also enjoy amenities such as high-speed Internet access at no additional cost.
Students must make room reservations by Friday, February 15, 2008 by calling the Hilton at 1-952-854-2100, indicating the reservation should be with the Walden University room block. Rooms in the block are available to students on a first-come/first-serve basis. Once the room block is full, the hotel reserves the right to increase the room rates prior to the room block deadline (February 15, 2008).
Registration Information
Residency registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Please register early to guarantee a place in the residency. If you register less than three weeks prior to a residency, you are not guaranteed to have your name included in all printed materials.

Students interested in attending this residency should read and must comply with the Residency Policies and Procedures.
Cancellation Policy
According to Residency Policy and Procedures, students who wish to cancel their registration MUST do so no later than February 28, 2008. Students who do not cancel by February 28, 2008 will be billed for the residency whether or not they attend.

To ensure accommodations are provided in a timely manner, please submit requests to Disability Services (disability@waldenu.edu) at least 30 days prior to the residency start date.
