PLEASE USE YOUR NEW WALDEN EMAIL ADDRESS WHEN REGISTERING. THANK YOU!
Location and Venue
Walden University will be hosting a 4–day Ph.D. residency in Portland, OR. During this 4-day residency, students will participate in academic sessions (Milestone Seminars, skills sessions, and special topic sessions), have access to faculty and staff members for advising sessions, and have an opportunity to interact with other Ph.D. students from Walden University for professional and academic networking.
Travel
Students flying to this residency will want to fly into the Portland International Airport (PDX). The residency will be located approximately 20 miles or 45 minutes from the airport. Students should make flight arrangements only after receiving a Confirmation E-mail from the Residencies Team.
Accommodations
Walden University has reserved a block of rooms at the Double Tree Portland - Loyd Center Hotel at a rate of $144/night. Take advantage of these rooms their convenience to academic sessions. With the extra time you’ll have in the morning, you will be able to make the most of your experience at the residency--socialize and network to establish a support system of faculty, staff, and fellow students. As part of the room block, you'll also enjoy high-speed Internet access in your sleeping room at no additional cost. Information about how to reserve a room will be provided to registered students in the Confirmation Email.
Students must make room reservations prior to Tuesday, August 21, 2008. Rooms are available to students on a first-come/first-serve basis; act fast to reserve your room as the hotel may reach capacity prior to the deadline. Once the room block is full, the hotel reserves the right to increase the room rates prior to the room block deadline.
Registration Information
Residency registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis beginning April 2, 2008 at 10 a.m. Central Time. Please register early to guarantee a place in the residency. Students who request to register after the residency has reached its maximum capacity may be placed on a waitlist and contacted if space becomes available.
If you register less than three weeks prior to a residency, you are not guaranteed to have your name included in all printed materials.
Policies and Procedures
Students interested in attending this residency should read and must comply with the Residency Policies and Procedures.
