If your letter of acceptance into the Walden University BS program indicated that you must complete general education credits prior to completing your degree, you may be interested to know that Walden University has a partnership agreement with Rio Salado Community College. RSCC provides a wide array of general education courses accessible online. General education courses are on the semester-credit system and begin every two weeks. The courses last twelve weeks and can overlap a Walden quarter.

Visit the Rio Salado Community College website at http://www.rio.maricopa.edu/. The full RSCC catalog shows courses that will fulfill the general education credits you need to complete.

1.  Once you have located a course in the Rio Salado CC catalog you would like to take, contact your academic advisor at Walden to ensure that it will meet the type of course you need to fulfill Walden requirements. Your academic advisor will need the following information to communicate the information to the Registrar's office and for step two, below, if it applies:

• Your name and Social Security Number
• Your degree program (i.e., BSBA or BSIS)
• Course information: Title and number of credits
• Quarter you plan to take the course

2.  If you are a financial aid recipient, contact the Financial Aid office at Walden University at finaid@waldenu.edu.

• Indicate in your message that you have prior approval to take a course (or courses) at Rio Salado CC.
• Request a "Financial Aid Consortium Agreement." The RSCC must complete this agreement and return it to the Office of Financial Aid at Walden University.

3. Contact the academic advising office at RSCC at academic.advisement@rio.maricopa.edu to register for the course(s).

4. At the conclusion of your RSCC course, request that a transcript be sent to the Registrar's Office, Walden University, 155 Fifth Avenue South, Minneapolis, MN 55410 so that the course can be added to your Walden transcript as well.
