SIOP 2007 Friday, April 27, 2007 Sunday, April 29, 2007 This residency has already passed. Walden University’s Professional Conferences are for advanced PhD students. Instead of fulfilling Milestone 4 at a Walden residency, students may choose to attend a Professional Conference (offered in conjunction with Walden faculty) at any time after completing the Milestone 2 (second) residency.
The School of Psychology is pleased to announce the SIOP Professional Conference. The purpose of this Professional Conference is to provide students with the experience of attending a conference and to offer an opportunity to hear current research and trends in Psychology. Additionally, hours of attendance at these conferences may be used toward completion of AYR requirements. Students must check with their state licensing board to ensure the board will accept the hours to fulfill state requirements. Professional conferences cannot be used to replace the Milestone 1 residency or a Summer/Winter Session AYR residency.
Residency Requirements
To meet the Walden University academic residency requirements, you must register directly with the SIOP Convention and you must also register for the Walden residency.
The format of the residency will be different from a typical residency. At this residency, each student will be required to attend various conference presentations and events. And, while there will be specific required events for all Walden students, there will be a great deal of freedom for students to select presentations and events that meet their research and career goals. Walden faculty from the School of Psychology will be attending the Conference to facilitate the residency experience for students. Faculty will cover topics aligned with Milestone 4 related to becoming a scholar-practitioner, including publication and presentation.
Professional Organization Website and Information
If you are planning to attend, early registration is recommended, both for the SIOP meeting and for the Walden Professional Conference.
Cancellation Policy
The Residencies Team reserves the right to cancel a special residency in the event that a pre-determined minimum registration limit is not met. |
