ASPA 2007

Friday, March 23, 2007

Tuesday, March 27, 2007

This residency has already passed.

Walden University’s Professional Conferences are for advanced PhD instead of fulfilling Milestone 4 at a Walden residency, students may choose to attend a Professional Conference (offered in conjunction with Walden faculty) at any time after completing the Milestone 2 (second) residency.

The American Society for Public Administration (ASPA) National Conference, March 23-27, 2007 is a gathering of practitioners and academics in the many fields that make up public service--public administration, nonprofit management and public policy. ASPA is an umbrella organization for numerous professions covering many areas (e.g., federal, state and local government; healthcare; criminal justice; administration of nonprofit agencies; budgeting and finance) of societal and professional concern.

Residency Requirements
Attendance at and participation in this Professional Conference will meet the academic residency requirement for Milestone 4 and is available to students who have completed Milestones 1 & 2 (second residency).

To meet the Walden University academic residency requirements, you must register directly with the ASPA national conference and you must also register for the Walden residency.

Meetings for residency credit are scheduled over four evenings. During the first residency meeting students and faculty will get acquainted and engage in the process of learning more about the American Society for Public Administration and the importance of professional organizations in career advancement. Subsequent residency meetings will focus on overviews and critiques of panels that residency students attend.
