Dean's Corner Denise DeZolt, Ph.D. ![]() Denise DeZolt, Ph.D. Dear Colleagues in the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences,
The Scholar-Practitioner began in 2004 as a Tips for Success newsletter for Health and Human Services students. Over time, it evolved into a more robust publication that sought to build community through developing collaborative relationships among faculty, students, and alumni across the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences.
Under the editorial lead of Dr. Marie Caputi, this newsletter has provided articles on research and professional practice written by CSBS faculty and students, announcements from the Walden Grants Office and the Walden library, writing tips from the director of writing services, and a readers’ forum.
As we prepare to move forward in exploring other venues for building community and supporting student success university-wide, we are taking another look at the role this newsletter can play and how it might evolve. Therefore, this will be the final issue of The Scholar-Practitioner in the current form.
I want to thank every person who has contributed to the writing and production of The Scholar-Practitioner over the past two years, as well as the readers. Please share your feedback and ideas for building community and supporting student success by emailing me at dean.csbs@waldenu.edu.
In closing, I ask that you join me in offering heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Caputi, mcaputi@waldenu.edu, for her service to our community in this endeavor. Her work has helped make public, in the form of this newsletter, Walden University’s commitment to scholarship and practice.
Sincerely, |
